Manchester United – Liverpool

Manchester United hosts Liverpool in one of the great English derbies in the Premier League. In our football tips tonight we will have a look at it.

Manchester United’s new manager Erik ten Hag had the most terrible start of the new season. The Red Devils lost both of their matches so far and they are 20th in the table. Their goal difference is speaking for itself, too – 2-6.

Ten Hag already admitted he’s not happy what he sees from his players. They are not doing what he told them to do and he doesn’t have a lot of time now – he has to find the source of the problem. Otherwise, he could quickly lose his job.

Last week United made a terrible performance against Brentford away from home – 0-4. Now the Dutch manager should make some changes in the line-up again. Players like Varane, Van de Beek, Elanga, McTominay and Malacia could find themselves in the line-up.

Liverpool’s start of the 2022/23 season was not perfect, too – two draws in the first two matches. Now the Champions League finalists will look for their first win against their most significant historical opponent.

On Monday Jurgen Klopp’s team hosted Crystal Palace at home, but lost two points with a 1-1 draw. Zaha opened for Palace in the first half while Luis Diaz equalised after the break.

Liverpool finished this game with 10 men on the pitch. The summer signing Darwin Nunez was sent off in the 57th minute so he’s missing the next match.

The captain Jordan Henderson is one of the players that could return in the line-up for United. The experienced midfielder started from the bench against Crystal Palace.
